Candle packaging needs to account for the container, its weight and how it reaches the customer. Compare retail cartons, rigid gift boxes and shipping packs, then plan the insert and printed information around the actual candle product.
Compare these formats against your project brief, including jar and lid size, filled weight, set arrangement.
Review the options with the chosen structure. Confirm the exact material, appearance and supporting documentation for your project.

Use these distinctions to narrow the brief. The finished specification and a suitable sample determine whether a format works for your product.
| Format or decision | When to consider it | What to check before approval |
|---|---|---|
| Paperboard retail carton | A candle displayed and handled as a retail product. | Measure the filled jar with lid and check the base, opening and label space. |
| Rigid gift box | A single candle or set presented as a gift. | Check the insert around each jar and clearance between accessories. |
| Corrugated shipping pack | A candle sent through a parcel delivery network. | Evaluate the jar, closure, cushioning and outer box as one packed unit. |
| Multi-candle set | Two or more containers packed together. | Record every container size and prevent unplanned glass-to-glass contact. |
A folding carton can organize retail presentation and printed information. A rigid box can frame a gift set. A corrugated shipping pack needs to be assessed with the candle container and its internal protection. Some projects use more than one layer of packaging.
Provide the jar or tin dimensions, lid details and filled weight. For a set, include each item and its intended arrangement. Identify surfaces that should be protected and allow for an insert without making the candle difficult to remove.
Plan the artwork around the brand, scent or variant name and any required product or safety information. Confirm labeling requirements for the destination market with the responsible product team before approving the print file.
Evaluate fit, access, insert support and appearance with the intended container. For shipped products, assess the complete parcel rather than relying on a display box alone. State the destination and expected handling conditions when discussing sampling and validation.
Include the requested quantity, artwork status and delivery destination. Confirm available materials, sample requirements, pricing and timing in the written quotation.
The need for an insert depends on the container, available space and handling conditions. Share the filled jar weight and dimensions so the layout can be reviewed. An insert should be assessed as part of the complete packaging system.
Treat that as a project-specific design decision. A presentation box may need an outer shipping carton and cushioning. Confirm the complete pack and its validation before using it for parcel delivery.
